McLaren Bay Regional Project
McLaren Bay Regional Cath Labs and Medical Suites
Bay City, MI

Owner: McLaren Health Care
Prime Contractor: Gregory Construction
Completion Date: September 2012

A backlogged schedule loomed over the renovation of the Cath labs and Medical Suites. The once vacant 4th Floor was transformed into medical offices with exam rooms, break rooms, waiting rooms, and a check-in office. New lighting and lighting control, electrical power, and fire alarm systems were installed during this phase of the project.

The 2nd floor of the medical center was renovated to support the daily operation of two new Cath Labs. New Phillips Allura FD Series X-Ray machines were put into service, control rooms were energized and over 80 ¾” to 2 ½” machine control conduits were carefully put into position. Within the confines of this 2,000 square foot area, new lighting, normal and emergency power, fire alarm, nurse call, and low voltage systems had to be meticulously placed amongst the structural mechanical, plumbing, and specialty equipment also required for the Cath Labs. BIM coordination and Clash Detection were critical for project success.

Immediately upon completion, doctors and patients were moved into these areas and the busy procedure schedule was resumed.
